Gin isn’t just for crying quietly while listening to the same sad Radiohead song on repeat. It is also, very importantly, delicious, and we thought it deserved an afternoon of its own.
Join us at Bar Something for a relaxed, seated tasting featuring a thoughtfully chosen lineup of distinctive gins. We’ll be pouring some beautiful local bottles, something a little more experimental, and an old favourite of Bloss’ that has earned its place after many years of loyal service.
Across the afternoon, we’ll explore a range of styles and expressions, moving from bright and citrus-led through to floral, savoury and slightly strange. Each gin has been chosen for the story behind it, the way it drinks and the particular bit of character it brings to the glass.
There’ll be plenty of time to sip properly, ask questions and get a better sense of what you’re actually drinking. No wrong answers, no need to know all the right words, and absolutely no obligation to say “juniper-forward” unless the moment genuinely calls for it.
A few thoughtful snacks will keep everyone steady, and the bar will be open from 3pm if you feel like settling in for another afterwards.
Good gin, good company and, hopefully, considerably less emotional damage than Radiohead.
